• Fort-Carré, which evokes some of the most significant episodes in the history of Antibes.
• The battlements and their rampart walks. This is the oldest part of Antibes, with a storied 3000-year history: Place du Révély, Saint-Esprit Chapel, the house where Jacques Audiberti (French writer and poet) was born, the Cathedral, the Saracen towers, and the ancient Château Grimaldi, now the Picasso Museum.
• The Bastion Saint-André is found here, and down below is the free commune of Safranier, a small ensemble of narrow alleys where the sun plays hide and seek with the foliage.

The rising morning sun illuminates Fort Carré and the Picasso Museum. Don’t wait – enjoy your breakfast and wander aimlessly through the streets of the old town. Pop into an art gallery here, an artist’s studio there, or a souvenir shop across the way.

Amble through the corridors of the Provençal market and inhale the scents of spices and other natural Mediterranean products. Go ahead and buy those olives for cocktail hour. Why not stop in at the Absinthe Bar, a museum dedicated to this mysterious beverage?
